Screeds and Floats
Concrete screeds and floats are an important part of any concrete work as these tools are used for finishing to ensure a smooth surface.
A screed, also sometimes referred to as a strikeoff, is used to level the wet concrete after it has been poured and is still within the form. Screeds are most commonly made from aluminum and are dragged across the concrete in a sort of sawing motion to level it with the top of the form.
A concrete float take the smoothing process one step further. Floats are usually swept across the concrete surface in a wide, sweeping motion.
